Taping Timeline - Monday, August 10, 2008 5:30pm

5:30 : General Crew Call. Dinner time! We'll set up Studio, and have Dinner in shifts while setup continues.

6:30 :  (cast) please be present so we can go over details, questions, etc, and familiarize yourself with the studio. If you have not already done so, please review past episodes (see the sidebar on the righ) to get an idea of what we're after.

7:00 : Audience please be seated in the studio no later than this time. You're welcome to come earlier and hang out at the lobby but you won't be admitted into the studio (lots of hubbub!) until sometime after 7.

To move things along, please be prompt and willing to take direction to speed things along. We'd like to roll tape no later than 7:20, it will help if all questions are asked and answered early in the evening before we start taping!

Cast and Crew: If you can't make it please let Birgit or Stan know immediately.

Feedback

  • The entire show went very well. Kudos to all involved, especially to Birgit and Denet who recruited talent and produced the show.
  • [stan] I prefer an opening shot which starts wide and zooms in slowly to MS of host. This establishes the presence of the studio audience at once.
  • There was a technical glitch in playing back the feature segment on Next Step Toastmasters. This required editing in post, to splice in the video segment. The MC will have to debug this problem (tape was new, and the segment was reviewed in the control room before the production started).
  • On Bill's initiative, informational graphics (URL, email, etc) were sprinkled throughout the show. This allows the lower-thirds to be displayed at a more leisurely pace than trying to put them all in at the end of the show during wrapup (which never happens).
  • Speakers walked in front of Camera 1. Try not to do this while live (walk behind Cam1). Floor Director (stan) forgot to caution against this at beginning of the show.
